INTRO:
There are times when we just need a cheap TWS to perform some daily activities, such as watching a video on YouTube, listening to a Podcast, etc. So, in these cases, it’s more common to look for the “overall” than for the best sound.
Among the countless TWS earphones that the Chinese market offers, I chose these 3 to make a brief comparison. This review will be a little different from the ones I usually do… this time, we will cut the talk and try to focus on the result, instead of the usual descriptive process.
Price: $9 USD (Baseus), $6 USD (Haylou), $5 USD (Lenovo)
PS: You can usually find these 3 TWS at the cheapest prices in the AliExpress “Dollar Express” Bunle Deals. If you buy 3 or more products, the shipping is free.

Considerations on the specifications provided in the advertisements and manuals:
- Baseus was the only one to say which IP certification the product has.
- Lenovo was the only one to inform which BT codecs the product has.
- None of the 3 have ANC (active noise cancellation).
- None of the 3 have app support.
- The only one that can control the volume through the earphone is the Lenovo.
- The Haylou and Lenovo have “game mode”.
UNBOXING:
COMPARATIVE:

- Best connectivity on Android: All with good performance (Baseus connects when opening the lid, Haylou and Lenovo when removing the earphone from the case).
- Most responsive to commands: All with good response to commands.
- Best signal range: All 3 managed to reach 10 meters.

- Best battery: 1st Baseus; 2nd Haylou; 3° Lenovo.
- Most portable: 1° Lenovo; 2° Haylou; 3° Baseus.
- Best Mic: 1° Haylou; 2° Lenovo; 3° Baseus.
- Best passive isolation: 1° Haylou; 2° Baseus; 3° Lenovo.
- Highest volume: 1° Baseus; 2° Haylou; 3° Lenovo (true, they are all similar, but Baseus has stronger bass, which gives the impression of louder, fuller sound).
- Best eartips: 1° Baseus; 2° Haylou; 3° Lenovo (Lenovo has a round nozzle and oval eartips?!).
- Best USB-C cable: 1° Baseus; 2° Haylou; 3° Lenovo.
- Best sound: 1° Haylou; 2° Baseus; 3° Lenovo.
Regarding the sound, the Haylou was chosen as the best, but we know that sound is subjective. I chose it because I noticed that the Haylou presented a good balance between frequencies, and has the most “normal” sound among the others. The Baseus came in second place and it stands out for its more intense bass, recessed mids, and its overall sound is warmer. The Lenovo also shows a slight sense of balance in its presentation, but its technical capacity leaves something to be desired. The bass is very bloated, and the sound as a whole is “boxy”, with less definition and detail than the others.
Regarding the microphone, the Haylou was by far the best, the quality was better than even the most expensive TWSs I have evaluated. In windy conditions, it was also very good, blocking the sound of the wind, it didn’t even seem like I had a fan turned on directly in my face. The Lenovo also surprised me, managing to reproduce the same feat as the Haylou, although with less quality. The worst was the Baseus, which didn’t perform very well in a quiet environment, and when tested in front of a fan, it performed terribly, with no voice on the audio, only wind noise.
Final considerations: As mentioned in the introduction, the focus of this review isn’t to find the best sound. I’ve heard better TWSs than these, such as Roseselsa i5 and Moondrop Ultrasonic, etc. So, overall, the Baseus had the best score. It’s the most expensive, but it also delivers the best quality as a product. Many people ask, “Oh, I want a pair of TWS earphones to use at the gym.” The Baseus is the best option because it has IPX5 (which protects against sweat) and has stronger bass, which helps mask external sounds.
In second place was the Haylou, which is a slightly cheaper option than the Baseus, but it also serves the purpose of being a pair of TWS earphones for everyday use. It may just not be interesting for those with very small ears. The Haylou had the “best sound”, but honestly this is a matter of taste. I still think that given the amount of features that the Baseus offers – and the sound too – it’s better to go with the Baseus (unless you don’t have the money to buy it). Now, for those looking for a good mic, the Haylou is back in the running.
I really don’t recommend the Lenovo (Thinkplus)… even though it’s the cheapest, but it is “the cheap one that ends up being expensive”. Its construction is much inferior to the other two, and the sound is also nothing to be surprised about. It really surprised me with the mic, although only this is very few to the product. You can skip this one, it’s a bomb.
