INTRO:
EPZ is a Chinese company that had a meteoric rise… Suddenly, the YouTube channels started talking about this brand. The company came with a very strong marketing stance, sending its products to many YouTube channels… Since I’m not a YouTuber, I ended up not having access to the brand’s products… But that story has changed, here is the first product sent by the company, and from now on, many more will come! The Q1 PRO is the successor to the EPZ Q1, which unfortunately I didn’t have the opportunity to test.

UNBOXING:
PHYSICAL ASPECTS:
Construction:
- The shell is made of 3D resin.
- The nozzle is made of metal.
- It has a vent on the top.
- Great build quality, the resin is very smooth.
- From the photos/videos it looks like a large IEM, but it is not.
- The unboxing experience is very cool, for the price range.
Eartips:
- The eartips have a very soft silicone on the external side.
- I found the silicone on the tube to be a bit stiffer.
- The company could have included 2 more eartips options.
- The thickness of the eartip tube may be too thick for those with a narrow ear canal.
- It’s possible to use the IEM with the stock eartips. The only reason to change them is for personal preference.
- I tested the sound with the SpinFit CP100 (M) [personal preference].
Cable:
- Great cable.
- No need to replace it (subjective).
- Good malleability.
- Very light and thin.
- Doesn’t get tangled.
- Doesn’t get ‘memory’ (wavys).
- The earhooks are wavy but not uncomfy.
- No microphonics.
- The Chin Slider doesn’t work as 100%.
Fit and comfort:
- Excellent fit – stable in the ears.
- Very comfortable, excellent ergonomics.
- The IEMs are very light.
- Ideal for those who use IEMs for long hours.
- Medium insertion.
- Very good isolation.
Earphone kit (accessories):
- Q1 PRO earphones.
- 3 pairs of eartips, sizes S/M/L.
- Cable (detachable).
- Velvety bag.
- Manual, QC certificate.

SOUND ASPECTS:
Sound:
- Mild V-Shape with more emphasis on bass. More controlled mids and treble.
- Sound leaning to the warm side.
- Laid-back and at the same time engaging signature.
- Comfortable to listen to, non-fatiguing earphones.
Bass:
– Quantitative:
- Moderate to high. Certainly the region with the most emphasis.
- It’s not basshead but it will please those who enjoy more present bass.
- Sub-bass and mid-bass present (without overlapping one region over the other).
– Qualitative:
- Good texture, good definition, good physicality, good impact, great extension.
- Full-bodied bass, which adds warmth to the presentation.
- Doesn’t invade the mids.
- Not bloated, not boomy, not muddy.
- Bass that brings laid-back and fun.
- Good for EDM, POP, Rock, Metal, Samba, etc.
Mids:
– Quantitative and qualitative:
- Slightly recessed mids.
- Linear pinna gain.
- Comfortable upper-mids, non fatiguing.
- Silky, smooth, slightly warm mids.
- Good definition, transparency, and airy.
- Not the best for those looking for more forward mids.
- Excellent for those who enjoy more euphonic mids.
- Snares drums or guitars are more “softened”.
Voices:
- Male/low voices performed better.
- More texture for lower voices.
- More power for low and baritone voices.
- Female/high voices became softer (less energetic).
Treble:
– Quantitative:
- Moderate treble.
- Not for Trebleheads (those looking for more treble).
- V-shape tuning with well-balanced treble.
- Recommended for those who are sensitive to treble.
– Qualitative:
- Comfortable, coherent, linear treble, good extension, good definition for the price.
- Good sparkle and detail.
- Not shrill, not sharp, not harsh.
- I didn’t notice any sibilance or coloration.
- Ride cymbals play correctly.
- Guitar solos have good energy, without being aggressive.
- Good for more engaging Jazz (less technical).
- In this range, the EW200 brings a feeling of more airiness.
Soundstage:
- Great soundstage.
- Very good in height, width, and depth.
- Sound with good spatiality.
Imaging:
- Great separation of instruments.
- Feels like there are more drivers in the IEM.
- Good clarity to identify the place of each instrument.
Driver flex test:
- I didn’t heard any driver flex sound when inserting the IEMs in my ears.
Amplification:
- Easy to push.
- No need for a powerful amplifier.
- A simple dongle is enough.
- I used the Q1 Pro with the FiiO KA11.
- It will play well directly from smartphones or iPads.
- Volume below 20 (of the 100 available on the W10).
PROS AND CONS:
